White Wine

Châteauneuf-Du-Pape Blanc La Fontaine, Domaine Grand Veneur 2021. The Jaume family have been making wine here since 1826 and still own the same vineyards; some of the vines are now over 100 years old. Christophe Jaume is the sixth generation of his family to make wine at this domaine. Fundamental to their approach to viticulture is their commitment to respecting their soil, their vines and the health and ripeness of their grapes, so they farm organically; their vineyards achieved organic certification in 2012.

Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume, Le Domaine D’Henri 2021. From foudre, the 2021 Fourchaumes has a touch of coconut, with lactic notes, but still the fruit comes up behind with some energy and a crisp fresh finish. Very elegant, quite striking with an excellent finish.

Gris Pinot Grigio Selezione, Lis Neris 2020. Expressive on the nose, soft on the palate. A family-owned winery located in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy, Lis Neris is renowned for its production of high quality white wines. This Pinot Grigio hails from the Gris vineyard, where vines were planted in its deep limestone soil over 30 years ago. This means the wines are provided great minerality, with this particular vintage embodying a complex and powerful feel thanks to the warmth of that year.

La Serra Blanc, Herència Altés 2018. Grenache - or the locally styled Garnatxa - is the calling card of this up-and-coming quality wine region, and the team at Herència Altés is working tirelessly to put both their beloved region and its flagship grape variety on the world map. The estate combines carefully maintained old vine Garnatxa vineyards and a state-of-the-art winery, every inch of which is designed to lower its impact on the environment, relying almost entirely on solar power and recycling rainfall for use throughout the facility, and all of the vineyards are farmed according to organic practices.

Rioja Blanco, Finca Allende 2018. Finca Allende is the brainchild of Miguel Ángel de Gregorio, one of Rioja's modernistas'. The winery is based in Briones, on the right bank of the Ebro river, in Rioja Alta. The soils in Briones are composed of red clay and gravel and the vineyards face north. Allende's Blanco is a fantastic barrel-fermented Viura that combines the richness of new oak with balancing acidity and juicy fruit, resulting in a deliciously harmonious and unique wine.

Chardonnay, Lyme Bay 2021. APPEARANCE: Pale gold in colour. NOSE: A classic nose of crisp green apple, citrus and light honeysuckle. PALATE: Baked apple and vibrant citrus lead, a creamy finish with just a hint of spice. A crisp and complex framework makes this wine an excellent match with food, and it also has the structure to support extended ageing.

Sancerre Le Chêne Du Roy, Domaine Pierre Girault 2022. Domaine Girault is situated in Bué, a small village in the heart of Sancerre. The domaine has been in the Girault family for 8 generations, and is currently run by Patrick Girault. This great lineage is set to continue as the ninth generation – Patrick`s son Adrien – is studying viticulture and spends free time helping his father out in the vineyards and in the winery. Soft nettle leaf aromas, and light mineral complexities.

Sauvignon Blanc, Isabel Estate 2022. Isabel Estate is one of the original Marlborough vineyards with some of the oldest vines in the region on original rootstock. In1980, and with a bird`s eye view, pilot Mike Tiller discovered a precious pocket of land, and the beginning of one of the pioneering Marlborough wineries was born. It wasn`t long before it was in high demand from premium and internationally renowned New Zealand wine producers. All fruit is estate grown from the 54 hectares of vines most of which are now organic.
